Keeping restaurant kitchens healthy

Every restaurant that you visit promises to serve clean and healthy food and boasts about hygiene maintenance in one way or another but in reality is this even true or what does it takes to keep a restaurant kitchen healthy? You might expect everyone at a restaurant to follow guidelines flawlessly but apart from clean glass and utensils, there are other things that you should notice too.

If a kitchen promises immaculate cleanliness, then you automatically start to trust that management because you know that they would exercise caution while preparing and serving food too. Now what’s the obsession with cleanliness? It’s simple – clean restaurant, surroundings, and utensils mean less germs and very less chances of you getting ill.

Ensuring disinfection protocols

Keeping a clean and healthy kitchen is necessary whether it's at home or a commercial one and as researches indicate that restaurants that routinely used disinfectant spray and other methods of cleaning were found to have less level of bacteria and other viruses. So this means that spotless tableware is something much more than just making the food on table look better.

It’s a great way of preparing and serving a whole lot healthier food. There are some foods though like dairy products that love to stick on the plate and then become this hard to remove mess that seldom harbors bacteria and other germs. The last thing that you need on your plate is a safe haven for bacteria that has not been effectively removed.

Ensuring hand hygiene

When it comes to ensuring hand hygiene there is no better way than washing hands with bar soap and water for 20 seconds because that effectively kills all sorts of germs and bacteria – practically much more than your claim of general 99% (Pun intended). This should be made possible for customers and staff both.

However, when there is no water available, the restaurant should ensure effective hand sanitization by placing sanitizer dispensers inside the kitchen and throughout the restaurants. In addition to this, hand sanitizers should be placed on each table so everyone coming in to eat is able to maintain hand hygiene.

Ensuring washing

A full load of dishes can be washed in just a 2-minute cycle with the help of ware washing machines. High temperatures such as 120 to 140 degree centigrade in combination with sanitizing and disinfecting solutions, helps clean the dishes effectively and smoothly. A full cycle within the machine leads to no germs and clean plates and utensils. This is important for an effective and quick clean.

For commercial kitchens and restaurants, buying a warewashing machine is extremely important as it helps clean dishes, maintain hygiene, and that too in a short period of time. In short words, everything that is required of a restaurant, good food, hygiene, and impeccable cleanliness, is linked to this machine but this doesn’t mean that you can put tasteless food on the plate and get away with it. We are just talking about how to keep restaurants healthy, not how to retain customers (Pun intended).

So this is all about keeping restaurant kitchens healthy. If you still have any questions, then you can let us know right away. We’ll be more than happy to help you out.
