Avoiding toxic substances in cleaning products
We tend to go for the easy way always but easy way is not always the right way. In order to understand what is right and what is wrong we have to research. When it comes to cleaning products we always try and choose from the first products that are lined up the cleaning aisle.
However, it might not be a good idea to do so. You might not
know but many of these products can be filled with toxic chemicals and
substances that might do more harm than good in case of floors, surfaces, and
even your health. After we are done cleaning our floors, we believe that now
it’s safe to let the babies crawl and play. This might be true and correct in
many of the cases but at times, this might prove to be harmful for the baby
because of toxic chemicals inside the floor cleaner.
Know what
you are doing
It’s always smart to first map out what are you going to do
and then act accordingly. Taking a step in the right direction even if you do
it slowly is beneficial as compared to going in the wrong direction quickly.
See the difference?
Maintaining good home hygiene is indispensable to assuring your family’s
protection against germs and shielding them from resultant diseases. The house
contains a lot of areas and a multitude of surfaces. Cleaning all of them in
one go is difficult and unnecessary too. You don’t need to rush in a frenzy up
and down the stairs cleaning everything that you can get your hands onto.
Read the
label
Today we are going to let you know about some harmful
chemicals that should be avoided at all costs. Read the label at the back of
the product and if you find any of these enlisted there, steer clear of the
product. Another thing to look out for is a missing label. Never choose those
brands that don’t display what their product contains. This a big red flag!
The
dangerous chemicals
Triclosan, Phthalates, 2-Butoxyethanol, Perchloroethylene,
and Quarternary ammonium compounds are some of the toxic substances that can be
found in household cleaners. For your information, some of them have been
regarded as potential carcinogens. Inhaling these over time might make them
accumulate in your body without you even knowing and this is extremely
dangerous.
Now, you don’t need to think that these are the only
chemicals that can help you clean. Alternatives such as Dettol disinfectant are there to help you
out. These products are free of toxic chemicals and can be used safely. Still,
to be sure read the label at the back to know if you are missing anything.
If you don’t want to use any of the commercial cleaning
products, then you should try homemade alternatives such as baking soda,
vinegar, liquid dish wash, liquid soap, and hot water. These alternatives are
known to have proven track records when it comes to cleaning surfaces aptly
without damaging. While using cleaners, make sure that you know what sort of
cleaner goes with which type of surfaces.
