Play centers: keeping those germs away
Children love a place where they can be themselves and what can be better than being in play centers. These locations are designed ideally according to a child’s play routine and therefore they love the ball pit, fun slides, and heights ready for conquering. However, little do they know that there are germs everywhere around them in play center waiting for them to make one mistake. Parents should be on their toes to ensure safety of their children because cleaning mistakes detrimental to your child’s health. Little ones can’t decide what is good for them and what is bad. Management staff and care takers at play centers should be aware of their duties and ensure proper disinfection of the place.
An unknown
interaction
When children interact with the balls or slides or
boxes, they might unknowingly get caught in the process of cross contamination.
This means that germs from other children or people might latch onto your
little ones as they play and enjoy themselves. Therefore it becomes really
important for you to understand the protective measures required. Before you
let your children dive in the ball pit, ask them to sanitize their hands with a
recommended hand
sanitizer and make sure that they are not touching their face
and mouth while being in the pit.
Surface
sanitization
As for the management, they should ensure adequate
surface sanitization by spraying the surface with surface
cleaners after every 8 hour shift, regularly. There can be no
dawdling and no exceptions to this process because even one flinching move can
spread bacteria and viruses in an exponential manner. Different states have
different regulations when it comes to certification required to run such
places. Management should ensure that they are yearly fulfilling the criteria
required and parents visiting the place should ask the facility to display the
certificate if not displayed.
Ladders, handles, monkey bars, floor mats, rope
swings, and railings are all those germ hotspots that you should specifically
care about as a manger and worried about as a parent. Some of the
microorganisms that can haunt your facility are pseudomonas, coli, coliforms,
staphylococcus aureus, and bacillus cereus. These bacteria and other viruses
can lead to certain diseases with symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea,
headache, and skin irritation. As a floor manager you surely don’t want your little
customers to get sick and as a parent, you try your best to avoid your little
one getting into trouble so therefore it’s important for everyone to play their
parts equally. Usage of antibacterial
wipes to clean these high contact areas should be promoted
as a means to fight different microbes.
