Tips on keeping your workplace clean

workplace hygiene

You must have heard from your fellow peers that keeping a house clean is a mammoth task that everybody can’t keep up with every single day but many of you won’t know that keeping your workplace clean is equally important. As we are stuck amidst a pandemic, strict hygiene and disinfection protocols are being applied throughout the world in public and private places to ensure the curbing of coronavirus. Yes, we all know that germs are everywhere but with modern alternatives, it’s easier to kill them everywhere, better yet, even knowing where the germs are helps you remain cautious of them.

What to do?

For example, if you know that this surface is dirty or you perceive it as contaminated you try to make sure that this surface gets cleaned as early as possible and even if you don’t, you try to avoid it. Well, that’s also true for any surfaces at your workplace too. You might be paying too much attention to your home but maybe you are completely ignoring your workplace.

Your workplace includes everything in your sitting surroundings. It involves your working desk, your keyboard, your pc, your drinking bottle, your lunch box, and anything that is on your working station. Where you sit, work, and eat, all falls into your workplace boundaries. Now you can keep it clean by using special disinfecting wipes or antibacterial wipes too.

Contact time

These wipes are known for their instant disinfection properties and would kill most of germs in a minute or two. However, you can read the label to determine what is the contact time. Contact time is the time required by any chemical to work properly. You really need to allow the disinfectant to sit in there for required contact time so that germs can be killed effectively.

Washing hands

Another way is to wash your hands thoroughly with liquid hand wash or soap and water, times and again and staying cautious. You know you’d be touching your workstation again and again throughout the day for different purposes but when you have something at the back of your mind that keeps telling you that you have dirty hands then you’d try to keep your hands clean.

Don’t eat at your desk

Another thing is to ensure that you are not eating at your desk. You’d surely be tipping a cup of coffee over or spreading salad dressing on your cloths if you do that. Well, that can happen in cafeteria too but this would also mess up the paperwork on your desk. You surely don’t want that. Another good reason to avoid doing so is that your cubicle might be loaded with a dangerously high germ population and it surely isn’t wise to eat at such a place because you’d be potentially providing them with free access to your body.

It’s always a good idea to pack bag of travel size accessories with you that can help you get through the day easily. Products such as instant hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, and alcohol swabs can sometimes prove to be really helpful.

So this is all about keeping your workplace clean. If you still have any questions, then you can contact us right away. We’ll be more than happy to help you out.
